Feedback First 2.0

Feedback First 1.0

In 2016, we published Feedback First, a guide to making feedback the foundation for organizational success. Nearly a decade later, we’re launching Feedback First 2.0—a thoroughly updated edition shaped by years of workshops, coaching sessions, successes, mistakes, and, of course, lots of feedback.

This time, we're taking a different approach. We're sharing everything as we go rather than keeping our insights and writing under wraps until the book is complete. Consider it an open collaboration where your feedback, stories, and ideas can directly shape the new edition.

Here’s how you can join us:

  1. Share your stories:
Participate in an interview and share your experiences with feedback—what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what you’ve learned. Your stories will help us create a practical, actionable book that reflects today’s challenges and opportunities. If you have ideas for deeper collaboration or co-creation, we’d love to hear them.

  2. Feature your organization’s feedback journey:
Is your organization doing something extraordinary with feedback? This is your chance to showcase your story, inspire others, and contribute to the larger conversation about building Feedback First cultures.

  3. Stay in the loop:
Sign up with your email to access updates, sneak peeks, and exclusive content as the book takes shape. There is no need to wait for the final product—be part of the journey with us.

We’re excited to reimagine Feedback First 2.0 together!

It has been said that to avoid learning and growing, do nothing, say nothing, but end up, being nothing. In high performance organizations, feedback is a sine qua non. Anybody interested in creating such organizations would do well to become familiar with Evekink and Becker’s CLEAR + CALM model that demonstrates ingeniously how to manage feedback from the giver and receiver’s point of view.

Feedback is not criticism. Feedback First shows us that knowing the difference could save your life or your job or your company

About the Authors

My name is Huibert Evekink

I’m a consultant, author, and leadership coach. I strongly believe that continuous feedback is the foundation for performance in today’s turbulent world. It connects minds to learn and collaborate, shapes behavior, and opens doors to better outcomes. Most change efforts fall flat without the ability to question mistakes factually and respectfully, leaving us to repeat the same errors.

I hold a master’s from INSEAD’s Consulting and Coaching for Change program and a master’s in Business Law from Leiden University. Fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish, German, and Norwegian,

With experience across industries—from marketing, sales, and branding to human resources—I bring a culturally attuned and practical perspective to helping leaders create feedback cultures.
